This really isn't a review, just a silly question...
Could it be possible that the writers here haunted the same kind of fanfictions as I did? Seriously, how else would you explain that I got hurt! vulnerable! manhandled! pretty! and badass! Dean - all of which are my favorite "kinks" - in one episode? The only thing missing was a protective!Sam. But with the writer who coined the phrase "the epic love story of Sam and Dean" helming the show, I'm certain that'll come in due time.
I know Sam is a little hard to swallow (no pun intended) at the moment. However, as far as I'm concerned, the only Sam I don't like is the righteous! vulnerable! whiny! limp! Sam. So even when he acts douchey right now, I enjoy the drama. Besides, who can deny he wasn't a sexy badass bastard here?!
I'm a happy fan!girl this week.
But I have a couple of more questions for my eagle-eyed flist: did anyone of you get that weird vision/hallucination thing Dean had? All I got was it may have something to do with twins, or pairs of twos. I kept having this feeling that I've seen that guy who appeared to the little girls before, only I can't remember where or when. What do you think? Do you think he's the Alpha? But then who's that bald guy who appeared on the balcony after Dean came out of his spell? I could've sworn Dean hadn't encounter that dude in the nest until that moment. Was he the Alpha?
When Dean said the Alpha was communicating with the vamps using psychic power, my mind went Aha! I know Sam's psychic ability went away after he killed Lilith, but I wonder if it was gone for good. Could it be back when Sam came back this time? If so, I wonder if it wasn't Sam who psychically stunned the vamps when the lead vamp dude had Dean in his grasp. Because it really didn't make sense to me why the Alpha would save Dean by putting all the vamps to sleep in the nick of time, unless he happened to choose that moment to deliver his psychic message. That's one heck of a coincidence.
One last question: is there one Alpha for every type of monsters out there, or one Alpha for all of them. At first, my assumption was the former, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Talking about fanfic influence, if I didn't know that there is a Black Rose in Twilight (I just googled for this), I swore they read my Dark Rose fic. heheh.

You know when they said Black Rose, I kinda giggled. It did brought to mind the black rose from your "Dark Rose"! Apparently,

As for the message in the vision, I think Dean got it right; it was a clear 'Go and multiply yourselves, my children' *g*
I don't think Sam had much to so with the timing for the alpha's message. He didn't seemed to know much about him, or how he was communicating with the rest of the nest, which was the main reason why he risked Dean's life to get that intel.
However, as far as I'm concerned, the only Sam I don't like is the righteous! vulnerable! whiny! limp! Sam. So even when he acts douchey right now, I enjoy the drama. Besides, who can deny he wasn't a sexy badass bastard here?!
YES!! THIS!!! SO MUCH YESSS!!

Mmmm, so you think it's just the "get out there and multiply" thing then. It's kinda trippy the whole thing. Who do you think that bald guy on the upstairs balcony is then? Just a random member from the nest?
The shipper in me wanted to believe Sam knew he could psychically help Dean and "drop" the vamps in the nest if Dean is in trouble. But you are right, that's a bit far fetched. Although the timing of the Alpha's message was really convenient, I think.
I know there's discussion going on right now on whether the Sam we see is really Sam. I for one pray what we saw is the real deal. I really don't want to see the story line of poor little Sam being locked up and tortured in the pit of Hell all this time waiting for his big brother Dean to save him.

As for what's going on with Sam, I have a couple of theories in my review of this episode. Drop by if you're interested ;)

I'm enjoying S6 very much so far. Based on the rating numbers, I think it's been quite successful. You are totally right in saying few shows keep reinventing itself into it's 6th season. SPN is unique in that.
Hope you have a lovely week too, my dear! *smishes*

I read a speculation elsewhere that the vision was showing how the vamps came to be--he bit the two girls, then they went out and bit more people, and so on. I don't know what the significance of Aurora is (unless this is where it's all going to come to a head at the end of the season?), but it sounded like I good explanation to me (esp since I didn't get it at all). Maybe the alpha vamp knocked everyone out because, for some reason, he didn't want them killing Dean?
I'm just going to say it (and sorry if I insult anyone, it's not my intention), but I am so over the "what is wrong with Sammy" thing and Dean angsting about it. We've had something like that every season (although not to this extent). I just don't care anymore.
I'm guessing the alpha storyline is the main arc this season--just about every episode so far has had something about alphas. I think that each species has its own alpha (at least that's the way it has come across to me).

ALPHA IS A CYLON!
Thank you Mick! I'm quite ashamed I forgot about Simon the cylon doctor. In my defense, Farm was never one of my favorite episode. Now I hope we get to see the actor again in future episode.
As to Aurora,
Another awesome review I saw is written by
I'm curious if there's hidden message in that vision other than "go multiply yourself" because I'm sure the vamps in that nest had already heard that before. I hope the writers will tie this loose string in the future episode, thus make the story line cohesive.

I'm with you on the cohesiveness of the storylines--I feel like so much has been dropped, never to be heard about again (or retconned), so I hope this season that stops and they tie everything together.
Yeah, Farm was never one of my favorites either, but I do like the actor. He was also on the short lived series, "The Magnificent 7" back around 1999-2000, which I was a fan of.

This season has so many retcons, starting with all of the previously established "facts" about the monsters have been essentially voided. Yet given the nature of SPN, they could make it work. Also per nature of the show, I don't expect its logic to hold as much as I do BSG. With that being said, it's still nice to have the writers tie the loose ends instead of just throwing them out there.
Whooo, Magnificent 7! I never watched it, but I'm pretty sure I heard it mentioned before. Was Apollo's Lady also a fan? Speaking of Rick Worthy, as adrenalineshots pointed out, he apparently was in Dark Angel as well! \o/

Nice catch with the psychic ability. I was really just wondering why it had happened right there and then - but as for Sam being the one who had done it, I don't think so. Maybe it was just a huge coincidence - although, what Dean saw, I really don't think it was a new message to send out so, yeah. Maybe it was more like a connection to the "Alpha" - as in, he saw into the "Alpha"'s memories or something.
I still think of it as an Alpha for each species of monster.

The vision about the split cell, twin copy popping out of nowhere probably means multiply itself. So with the Alpha pointing outside, the message probably is "go out there and multiply yourself". Although I hope there's additional information in that vision because otherwise it would be rather redundent if the message is originated from the Alpha - surely the vamps in that nest heard that before.
Most likely you are right in the timing being a coincidence. Although I still wonder if Sam has came back with his psychic ability, probably even stronger than before. I can see that as a secret he wants to keep away from Dean. I'm so very looking forward to the next episode. Hopefully I learn more about what's going on.

Yeah, exactly. All of those vamps must have known that - especially the one who turned Dean, since he was 600 years old. I hope there's more to it too.
Sam coming back with strong psychic powers would be way cool. As long as they don't make him out as him having "good intentions" like before. Otherwise, it would be really neat.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I used to read your stuff before I even joined LJ, and I always enjoy reading your thoughts/opinions. You always really make me think, and I like that, so thank you. It's nice to have an account now and to be able to share my thoughts with you as well.

Anyway, that is such a lovely thing to say, thank you! I for one is so happy you joined us at LJ. I love discussing the show with you and I really appreciate the fan arts you make!
I completely agree with you in regard to Sam's psychic power.
