After the annoyance I described in the previous post, it's so gratifying to read this lovely report "Jammin’ With Jensen and Jason" @ fangasmthebook. There were many parts in the report that moved me deeply. My favorite in particular is this passage:

The next song was another Ray LaMontagne song, “God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise” – it’s sad, haunting, full of longing, and Jensen’s voice carried all the emotion eloquently. After, he confided that some of the lyrics seemed to perfectly evoke his loneliness sometimes, alone in his trailer in the Vancouver rain, as he sang “the rain’s about to drive us all insane.” One of the things that makes music so moving and so personal is that it does pull for those feelings, whether you’re listening or playing, and the moment of shared vulnerability made the performance quietly powerful.

The complete report can be accessed here. Go read it because it's awesome; it's the next best thing beside seeing the performance live. I can't thank the ladies at fangasmthbook enough for sharing their experience with us so eloquently.

I always love fangasm's ladies report, because they always give neutral & honest report.

Yeah, me too! What I also love about them is they have general appreciation for the boys as well as the fandom at large. Sure, every fandom has its crazies, however, I feel these ladies aren't overly judgmental and always focus on the positive aspects instead.

I just read that report before I came here. It was a great report--it gave me a feel for what the session was like.

Isn't it so? It really is the next best thing other than seeing and hearing the concert with my own eyes and ears.

Actually, hearing the songs alone I most likely would not know much about the majority of the songs they sang. So it's wonderful these ladies gave the playlist and a little description about each of the songs along the way.

I also loved reading about Jensen's nervousness, the crowd's encouragement, and Jensen/Jason work through their first time jitters to make everyone there ended up with a good time!

Hey thanks for covering this whole issue, xwacky. I never would have heard about it at all, from start to finish - so glad you provided some links. Though much as I like Jensen, I can't imagine spending $1500. to hear him sing.

You are welcome sweetie! It was quite shocking how zealous fans were over this first ever event. In truth I would very much love the chance to hear Jensen sing live. In fact the day after the tickets went up for auction, I went to my friend's house for dinner. She had never seen a single episode of Supernatural, but she's a big fan of country rock. So I showed her a video of Jensen singing "The Weight" on YouTube, even she was excited about Jensen's talent and wanted to see if we could get the tickets for the concert. I told her the price was already over $500 at that time, and it wasn't even a question on whether we should give it a try. As much as we wanted to go, there is a limit to my affordability.

I sent Jason Manns a message via facebook on that day expressing fans wish that the performance would be released on DVD or CD. He graciously wrote me back to say there will be professional recordings made at the live performance, but whether or not it gets released to the public depends on how Jensen feels about the performance and the quality of the recordings. Fair enough, I can understand the thought behind that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though for the chance a DVD or CD gets made from this.

Thank you for sharing. I never would have known about it in the first place, or had the opportunity to read the great review if you wouldn't have done so. I really appreciate it. :)

::DIES::

I'm very happy for Jensen. And thanks for the link!

I was just listening to Steve's songs that Jensen wrote the lyrics to - Where My River Flows and Love You Or Leave You. I like to think that he wrote those songs with Jared in mind!!
