Saturday Conversations w/ My Nine Year Old...

@ On the way to his Piano lesson:

My Son: "Mom, you know, I made my character on Guitar Hero look like Dean."
Me (driving): "Erm... how?"
My Son: "Well, he's wearing blue jeans, and a jacket. And he has short hair.  I just need to know what his eye color is."
Me: "Green."
My Son: "Oh, I need to make a change then."
Me: "Okay..."
My Son: "Wanna me to show you? I'll play Eye of the Tiger for you."
Me (still driving): "Fine, but clean your room first."
My Son: "Awww, mom! At least let me show you my character."
Me: "Clean your room first!"

@ Picking up the dry cleans:

Attendant: "Hey, A***!  Long time no see.  How have you been?"
My Son: "Fine, just the normal life."
Attendant burst out laughing...
Me (was concentrating on checking the clothes): "What?  What did he say?"

@ Having lunch, and telling hubby about our friends' kids' puppy love:

Me: "...and so, Elijah is really sad they are moving away, and he won't be able to go to the same school with Ari anymore."
Hubby: "Well, I'm sure he'll find plenty of other girls in Los Angeles..."
My Son (jumping in suddenly): "You can't find love, you know.  Love will find you.  Unexpectedly."

O.o

OMG, your kids seems to be made of awesome! I wish my future kids turned out like that. (I have no children.yet)

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-13 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, thank you! ♥ I thought he was rather dorky (adorkable at best). ;) Half of the time, I don't know where he come up with the stuff he says. Maybe he's been listening too many classic rock songs and playing too much Guitar Hero.

I'm sure your future kids will be awesome! :)

Oh that is too adorable! I love the conversation about guitar hero, that's too cute!

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-13 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! ♥ :p
Sometimes I'm a little scared at how much influence I have over my son... o.O

[identity profile] dreams-of-honey.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well at least it's all good influence. ;-)

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to think that is the case. Unfortunately I know better. ;-)

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2009-06-13 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. Sounds like quite the cute kid. :)

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-13 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. He sometimes drives me crazy, and other times makes me speechless. *g*

Too cute!!! Yes, they can sometimes surprise you with the things that they say!!

mick

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! ♥ Yeah, kids can be surprising sometimes. I guess that's the joy of having them. In many occasions, I love to look at things from his POV. In this case though, I'm completely at loss where his words came from. I'm also a little disturbed that he's talking about love in such a way, or any way...

[identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Your boy his so, so precious!! Can his Guitar Hero Dean have a leather jacket as well? :DD

My Son: "Fine, just the normal life."

\o/\o/\o/

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! ♥ :-p

I don't know, I haven't seen his Guitar Hero avatar yet 'coz he hasn't cleaned his room yet. But he claims its wearing a leather jacket, or so he thought. O.o

Once the attendant explained to me what he said, I started laughing too and asked him what was his definition of an abnormal life. \o/

Hey, I can't get over this userpic of yours. The look on Jensen's face is sooooo tender! :p

[identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
asked him what was his definition of an abnormal life.

And what did he say to that? Hunting things, saving people? :))

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That would actually be the logical and sensible answer, wouldn't it? ;) Unfortunately, his idea of abnormality is when he has to clean up his room. *sad faced*

(Anonymous) 2009-06-14 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so with you on the "cleaning the room" stuff. Sometimes I feel like it's my daily mantra!

mick

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't it so? I am not without resorting to bribery or blackmailing when it comes to it. All it takes is for one of his little friend to come over and play. Then his room feels like a hurricane swept through it. *headdesk*

I realized long ago that my kids have taken my fandoms to heart (and rejected my husband's sports fandoms). My dad had the same effect on me. I remember watching Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, and many other shows with him that the rest of the family was not interested in.

"You can't find love, you know. Love will find you. Unexpectedly. Kids say unexpected (and sometimes very wise) things don't they?

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yours too? Hehe, yay for kids close to their mommies! My son rejects my hubby's sports fandoms too, until recently he started to watch a little bit of baseball with his daddy, all because he himself started to play the game and loved it.

My son watched some of the Battlestar Galactica with me too (the scenes where I deemed okay for kids). One time, in his Dad's office (my hubby teaches Computer Science), he blurted (out of blue): "To live a better life, they need to give up technology." I was like: "What?!" He went on: "You know, technologies are evil, like in Battlestar Galactica!" O.O

Yeah, kids say most unexpected things sometimes. Makes me scared of what kind of materials I put forth in front of him. They are like sponges, they absorb everything around them, even the ones we don't think they'd notice.

I still suspect that line about love he heard it from some of rock song maybe. I just can't think of any...

[identity profile] i-o-r-h-a-e-l.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Your son is very wise.

Love will find you. Unexpectedly.

I totally love this. :)

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Wise I'm not sure. He still refuse to clean his room. ;-)

I have no idea where that statement came from. I'm a little worried he's even thinking about love, much less making any sense of it, LOL.

Thank you hun. ♥ *huggles*

[identity profile] silwyna.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
You have the CUTEST little boy!!!

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-14 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, A*** says thanks to his auntie Sil! ♥ *hugs*

[identity profile] suffolkgirl.livejournal.com 2009-06-16 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL over his love comment, he's quite the philosopher, isn't he? :) Sounds like a quote from a song or film to me.

Obviously I've got a lot to look forward to when Matthew starts talking!

[identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
::nodding emphatically:: Oh hun, you have so much to look forward to when little Mathew starts talking! They'll say the darnest and cutest things! Just wait and see. *g*

Yeah, I was sure it was from a song or a movie, I just don't know which one, lol! O.o
