An Apology...

Ummm, it came to my attention that I may not have been getting any LJ notifications through my email for a little while. I thought people are just busy or possibly ignoring me since I have been really bad at keeping up with LJ. But I just noticed several "new" comments left at my LJ entry that I knew nothing about. This leads me to suspect there might be more such comments out there. So please accept my apology for not responding. It's going to take me awhile to track down the comments I may have missed, and it's very possible I'm not going to be able to catch all of them. So sorry!

P.S. Has anyone else been experiencing similar trouble lately? Does anyone know if the issue lies with LJ or with yahoo mail?

ETA: Mystery solved! Thanks to layne67 who suggested me to take a look at my Spam folder, I found out the problem was with my yahoo email. At sometime after Thanksgiving, yahoo decided that a good chunk of my emails are "spams" and blocked them from my inbox. LiveJournal is one of the "casualties". To fix the problem, per suggestion from koredump, I added lj_notification's email address to my contact list. Hopefully, this is the last time I encounter this problem!

I have yahoo too, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with my notifications right now. Must be LJ :/

Hon, thanks for letting me know yahoo is not to blame in this instance. Maybe I should send a message to the LJ help staff - I'm sure they are around somewhere.

Oh sweetie, I'm so very sorry for my neglected replies. There are times I simply don't have time, but something like this just plain sucks. :(

By the way, I checked your comments below, about yahoo marking it as spam! I forgot it does that to me every now and then, but usually with only one or two notifications at a time. Sorry I didn't think of that sooner! I don't think it's just LJ though, it happens to me with different things. But yours was lots of messages right? I've never had it happen with that many from one site only. Weird.

Yeah, yahoo marking the notifications as spam was what the problem! Looks like it started some time after Thanksgiving when massive retail advertisements are flooding people's email accounts (at least those who buy stuff online, like me).

I've never encountered something like this either. And it's not limited to LJ, some of my work related emails got misplaced as well. I had to bug my system admin to troubleshoot, and we never zeroed in on what was the problem. I just found out all those "missing" emails ended up in my Spam folder! *sigh*
