Went to my local Borders bookstore to get the latest Supernatural Magazine.  As I walked pass the bookshelves, my eyes caught the cover of a paperback book:

Whoa! Am I seeing things?!  Please tell me THAT is not a likeness of Jamie Bamber there?! :-O

BTW I bought the book (on the sole count of the cover art).  Am pretty sure it's a new low for me...  :p

Amazing isn't it?! I have no idea if it was modeled after him intentionally. But the likeness is uncanny.

I don't think that's him. Very similar but it's just not quite "right". It wouldn't surprise me that the artist took his face and did something similar though - he's certainly got the right look!

Very similar at first sight, but definitely not him. The face shape is the same, maybe that's why it looks so similar. But that one is not Jamie's cute nose.

Looks a LOT like him, but covers like this are usually worked directly from photographs of models that the cover artist took himself, so I doubt he would have worked from a copyrighted picture of Jamie. Still, I'd love to meet that guy, as the resemblance is uncanny. *g*

Definitely not him (nose, spacing of the eyes, lips imho) - but there's a strong resemblance, and he's looking rather sexy... ;)

Ummmmm, gods I can't believe I'm admitting this but I read that series. Unfortunately it's not our man. They use models and Kenyon sends e-mails out about the models when they're picked. I never noticed the resemblance of this model to Jamie though - I saw Aragorn from LOTR. I think I might go read it again!

They are good books, but do have the romantic cliches down pat. That's kind of why I read them. They're fluffy and sexy and very entertaining. But they do have a very interesting arc throughout the whole series tied to the Greek gods. But the book you picked up is Number 24 (!) in the series and I think it's hard to follow the backstory if you haven't read the others.

So get cracking on numbers 1-23! ;-)

It looks like someone did some graphics shifting with a JB photo and pastede in features of someone else with a thinner nose. Or possibly it's a mashup of those two guys from Supernatural--I think the younger brother looks like a first draft version of Jamie. (Sorry, SPN'rs, I just don't think he's as pretty.) But I do think JB was part of the collage here.

I agree it's kinda off. Can't put my finger on it. But it resembled so much that I kinda zeroed in on the book when I *walked* pass the bookshelf, heh.

Hehe, you are the second person zeroed in on the nose. I guess that must be it then! I didn't think it was an exact likeness, but thought maybe the artist had used him or his image as a base.

Ha! So it's the nose then (you are the 3rd person picked up on that). I'm inclined to think the artist used Jamie's image as a base and worked from there. But it was so subtle I couldn't put my finger on what was off.

I'm a BIG SPN fan nowadays. And I do think Sammy is cute. However, (I'm sure I'm going to get railed by some of my fellow SPN fans) I think Jamie is waaaaaaaay prettier! AND let's not forget the smart! *g*
