Just found out the brand of the jeans jacket Jensen Ackles wore on his dinner date at Katsuya in Hollywood. It's the G-Star Slim Taylor Jacket in Urban Denim Track Aged (priced around $270 online. Apparently there's a ladies' version too, priced slightly less at $240.)

For the record, I personally adore this outfit he had on. I love jeans on jeans look, but it can be tricky to pull off. For one thing, matched top and bottom in the same wash is just too passé. Thankfully, he chose a darker washed jeans for the bottom instead. The plaid cotton shirt he layered here further broke the monotony of the jeans, making the whole outfit look less like a uniform.

My favorite part of the look is the scarf. I know not everyone thinks the same way as I do, but the simple accessory not only is functional, it also adds a bit of whimsical touch to the otherwise staid look. I also appreciate that even though the look is layered, he kept the color tone to basic white and blue, thus the getup still looks crisp instead of fussy.

In my opinion, it's always easy to look good in a well tailored suit. Therefore, as gorgeous as I think Jensen looks on the red carpet, it's this casual look he sported here I find more interesting.

I'm curious to know what you, my flist, think of the outfit. In particular, what's your opinion on the scarf. Do you love it, hate it? Below is the first poll I've ever created here at LJ. Tell me what you think.

[Poll #1557030]

imho, the guy has a good style, he knows exactly what looks good on him and he knows how to wear his clothes with chic/style. even though that his whole outfit rather screams gay than metrosexual :-D

*giggles* It's metrosexual to me. But that's just me. Thanks for voting.

While I don't necessarily like the scarf (but that's me--I'm just not a scarf person), I think Jensen looks good in anything...he'd make a paper bag look hot!

mick
(BTW--I couldn't vote in the poll, but I hope you don't mind me adding my two cents worth here. :) )

From: [identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com

Miiiick! Love to have your two cents. :D

But you can't vote the poll? Hmmm, did I do something wrong? Do you see the radio buttons at all, or just the histogram? Thought I set the poll setting to "Open to All". *scratch head*

ETA: Try this -- click on the "Poll #1557030" link, and at the Poll page, click the [Fill out Poll] link. Do you see the radio buttons for the choices and the "Submit Poll" button down below?

ETA2: Sorry Mick, I did a little digging at LiveJournal's FAQ page. It appears LJ enforces registered users only to be able to vote in any of the polls created here. This is due to LJ's attempt to make sure one vote per person. *sigh*

Who? Me? LOL, I'm that bad huh?

Hey sweetie, you didn't vote. *pout* Tell me what you think, please? *bats eyes*

I just voted! Sorry, kinda forgot to do it after reading your lovely review on his outfit. You don't only do brilliantly ep reviews but also talk about clothes well. :D

From: [identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com

Wheee! You liked it too. :D

Thank you so much for voting, and your lovely words. ♥

He's quite the fashionista, eh, our Jensen? I don't quite know what to say about the scarf. It looked good on him but then, anything would look good on him! I guess if it was cold then it was functional and if it wasn't he was being fashionable? I wonder whether he gave Jared any fashion tips when they lived together :)

From: [identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com

Oh dear, one thing is for sure, if Jensen can rock in "plum smuggler" shorts and lederhosen, it's really hard for him to look bad in something. Thanks for voting. *g*

Can you imagine Jared in layered clothing? He'd be drenched in sweat!

p.s. If I remember correctly, that night was pretty chilly here in California.

You know what? I love you Jane.
I saw this G star and I said to myself, "Jensen you look hot, but G-star? Where is an Armani or sth?"
But now you got me straight.
Thanks bb.
Lots of hugs, I love his outfit too.

Oops sorry, I love the scarf, I voted, hell I love everything about him.

Anastasia darling, I love you too! ♥

Apparently there are a slew of celebrities who are fans of G-Star, including JayZ and Chris Brown. I like the wash of this jacket and the slim cut. The ladies version looks great too, but I can't justify spending $240 on a Jean jacket for myself. Image

*giggles* Jensen is very easy to "love about"! The guy is so talented and pleasing on the eyes, it almost isn't fair. Thank you so much for voting! *hugz*

I...I don't know which one to vote...I mean, like others said, he looks good in anything, even paper bags lol But I just can't...like the scarf, I felt that it's not like his usual style. I just love him in plain jeans & t-shirts, simple but nice. But it's just my opinion and I'm a bumpkin, no sense of fashion at all...

From: [identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com

Oh hon, you can vote for taking it off if you don't like the scarf. If everyone likes and dresses in tha same style of clothing, it would be boring!

And you have great style sweetie. I saw you in person in LA, remember? I love the outfits you had on during your photo ops!

I agree this isn't exactly his normal style. Truthfully I think it's more for functional purpose. That night was chilly in California if I remembered correctly, and I saw a picture of him posing with a fan inside the restaurant, he didn't have the scarf on.

From: [identity profile] elsiecat.livejournal.com

Thanks, Jane! It was not my usual style (I'm usually jeans + T shirt...now you know why I like Jensen in those two XD)

And the scarf do look warm~

YOU! Definitely should be a fashion stylist for Jensen. :D:D:D

But I don't like the scarf, really. In my eyes, it ruined the jacket and Jensen.

Basically, Jensen looks good in any kind of outfit. Like this one:

Photobucket

It's simple, yet it looked good on him.

But, I'm not good with fashion, so it's purely my thought. :D:D:D

From: [identity profile] xwacky.livejournal.com

WOW! You want me to dress Jensen? Are you trying to make my brain explode?

*blushes*

Fair enough that you don't like the scarf. It's not for everyone for sure. I admit he looked good in the picture above (hey thanks, I've never seen this one before), but the outfit is also a no brainer, not exactly exciting. The cut of the jacket is nice. I love a tailored jacket. Where and when was this one taken, do you know?

Thanks so much for voting, sweetie!

Yup, dress him by the day, undress him by the night.

Hahahahahahahaahaha

Anyway, that pic was taken on June 10, 2005. It was a party, a birthday party for Shane West. Jared was there too.

I love his style here. It's such an effortless look, but still looks stunning! Or maybe that's just Jensen. Lol And I love the scarf! I think I love it more because Jensen chose to wear it. Without it, it just looks like he threw on some jeans and a t-shirt, but with it, it suddenly becomes a funky and stylish look. You can read a lot about Jensen and the accessories he chooses. Like all those bracelets he likes to wear.

Scarf love, baby.
I think he looks good here despite his tired face.
(Thank you so much for your v-gift, lovely) :DD
