I thought it is awesome that Obama would take time to address the youngsters personally on such important topic. Like the article said, both Reagan and Bush Senior had gave speeches directed at students in the past. And they were televised with much fanfares. The fact people would jump on Obama for doing what I regard as good public service annoys me. I get upset when someone chooses to be contrary for no good reason.

The irony here is if this hasn't resulted in controversy, I probably would not have found out about Obama's planned speech. Now that I know, I will not let my son miss it. *g*
