I also read that Smallville is moving to Fridays.
I so want to see a new GOOD vampire show, but I'm afraid you're right about the Twilight bandwagon. I'm trying to stay vaguely optimistic, but ... I think Twilight ruined good vampire stories for the next decade or so :\
